Steps to Justice has created a resource page for the different programs that the Government of Canada creates, from time to time, for temporary immigration programs for people in a specific country or region that’s in crisis. The government does this to help people when, for example, the place they are from is:

  • at war,
  • dealing with violence and unrest, or
  • dealing with a natural disaster like an earthquake or famine.

Current programs:

  • Refugees from all countries: Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot
  • Gaza
  • Haiti
  • Hong Kong
  • Iran
  • Israeli nationals and Palestinian passport holders
  • Lebanon
  • Sudan
  • Ukraine
  • Yazidis and survivors of Daesh in Iraq

You can read more about Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s programs and services on their website.
