Robbie Williams was on tour again, this time for his album Britpop. He stopped in Italy as part of the European Culture Capital. 8 months before the concert, Andreja mentioned we should go. I am not a fan of him and this kind of music since Take That days, but I heard he can make a show, so I bought tickets (100€). They needed 4 months to send them to my email. Soon it was time to go to the concert. The problem is that it was on Thursday (during the working week). After work, I had time to return home, eat something, and soon Andreja picked me up and we drove toward Italy. The road was empty, we stopped at a gas station, and missed an exit in the city, but that ended well.

After we parked by the road, we walked toward the stadium Nereo Rocco (been here on a Bruce Springsteen concert), stopped for a beer (5€) and entered a few minutes before Robbie got on stage with the rest of 30.000 fans.

The intro was about what entertainment is today. He opened in a spacesuit for the song Rocket climbed up a platform and was lowered on some ropes. Soon, he was in a jumpsuit. Song Let me entertain you pointed out he thinks he is the best entertainer in the world, not too far from the truth. He had great communication with fans, climbed off the stage, got to the C stage in the center of the stadium, openly spoke about his kids, sick parents, … Of course, big hits like Rock DJ, Supreme, Feel and last Angels got most atention, but for me he got me with My Way (Sinatra). In general, he communicated a lot, changed a few times, and played covers from other artists. Too soon, two hours were over.

It was not too crowded in the stadium, you paid with tokens for beer (6€) and food (hot dog 3.5€). As on stage so off stage, all enjoyed the evening. We walked slowly to the car and drove toward home, another detour for GPS. The next morning was tough.
